Dalmatinska raštika is a biennial plant. In the first year it forms a rosette of leaves, in the second year it produces a flower stalk. The plant stem is erect, unbranched, reaching a height of up to 150 cm.

The leaves are blue-green, fleshy, with pronounced veins and rounded at the base. The variety is adapted to the climate of coastal regions, tolerates high temperatures, drought and low temperatures.

Propagation is possible by direct sowing or seedlings. Cultivation requires fertile soils with high humus content and regular watering. It is used as a vegetable crop in soups and stews; young leaves are suitable for salads.
