The variety is the result of breeding work started in 1930 based on the 'Blåtopp Faale' variety. It was created for adaptation to the climatic conditions of the Trøndelag region as a winter crop with a shorter vegetation period compared to the original variety, as well as to reduce the intensity of the blue tint of the leaves.
The plant belongs to the winter cabbage group with a vegetation period of about 110 days. The variety is distinguished by good covering qualities and a high capacity for long-term storage. Under Norwegian conditions, the seedling method of cultivation is recommended with plant spacing of 65 by 55 cm.
