The variety forms a leaf rosette and does not develop a dense head, which distinguishes it from heading Chinese cabbage. The plant is characterized by tender leaves and a short growing season, with sowing possible at different times up until August.

The produce of this variety is intended for fresh consumption as baby greens. The variety is not suitable for long-term storage, as it quickly loses its marketable quality and crispness, including when attempts are made to store it with a root ball.
