The plant belongs to a species originating from the mountain regions of Dalmatia. The growth habit is compact, cushion-forming, with a height of 10–15 cm and a bush width of up to 50 cm. The leaves have a rounded or kidney-like shape.

The flowers are violet-blue or purple-blue in shade, star-shaped or bell-shaped, and cover the bush from June to August or September. The plant is characterized by winter hardiness, prefers well-drained soils, and is suitable for cultivation in full sun or partial shade.
