The Havport variety is a low-growing perennial plant forming mats. The height of the bushes is about 10–15 cm. The flowers are light blue-violet in color.

The plant is used for landscaping rock gardens, rockeries, as a groundcover crop, or as a houseplant. It prefers well-drained, moderately nutritious soils and is sensitive to water stagnation.
