The plant has simple ovate foliage with a serrated margin, arranged in a basal rosette and alternately along the stem. The flowers are gathered in raceme inflorescences; the corolla consists of five partially fused petals of a dark violet shade.

The variety is profusely flowering; the flowering period occurs in mid-season. The plant is intended for ornamental use as a houseplant, as well as for growing in containers, on terraces, and in the open field in rock gardens and rockeries.
