The variety is a monoecious version of the Italian Carmagnola variety. The monoecious trait was restored using genetic material from a sample stored at the German IPK germplasm bank in Gatersleben.

The plant belongs to industrial varieties intended for commercial use. Monoecy ensures more uniform crop maturation and facilitates mechanized harvesting. In terms of the development cycle and the quality of the fiber produced, the variety is comparable to the original Carmagnola variety.
