This phenotype was obtained as a result of gamma-ray exposure on the pollen of the parent varieties. Its main distinctive feature is the presence of yellow leaves in the upper part of the plant, caused by an induced mutation.

The coloration trait proved to be incompletely dominant and was not maintained during propagation, resulting in plants reverting to their natural green color. The THC content in the experimental samples was 0.17%.

Yellow apex was used exclusively for research purposes for genetic and morphological studies and is not a commercial variety for industrial cultivation.
