The plant is bushy and reaches a height of 80–100 cm. The fruit ripening period is about 90 days. Unlike the classic Mirasol, whose fruits grow upwards, the fruits of Chocolate Mirasol hang downwards as they ripen.
The fruits have an elongated shape up to 150 mm in length and turn chocolate-brown at biological maturity. The heat level of the variety is 2 500–5 000 Scoville heat units, and the flavor profile includes notes of berries and tea. The variety is characterized by high yield.
The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, drying, and making powders or 'mole' sauce. Due to the abundant harvest, the plants require tying or the installation of supports to prevent the branches from bending.
