The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and intense anthocyanin coloration in the node area. The leaves are ovate in shape.

The fruits are rectangular with a smooth surface and contain 3–4 seed chambers. At technical maturity, they have a medium-intensity green color, and at biological maturity, they turn red. Capsaicin is present in the fruit placenta.
