The variety belongs to the group of peppers with elongated fruits. At technical maturity, the fruits are light yellow, changing to red at biological maturity. There is also a variety «Duga bela ljuta», which is distinguished by its pungency.
The plant is sensitive to rapid post-harvest quality deterioration, including moisture loss. Studies note its susceptibility to bacterial spot, as well as to infection by fungi of the genera Alternaria and Fusarium in the seed material.
The variety is traditionally grown in open field and in smallholdings. Due to its characteristics, it is used in scientific work on the development of produce storage technologies, for example, when using hot water treatment to extend shelf life.
