The variety is a local landrace that developed in the mountainous regions of New Mexico. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth, forming a compact bush 60 to 100 cm in height.
The fruits are pointed in shape and reach a length of 5 to 12 cm. During the ripening process, the fruit color changes from green to deep dark red, sometimes with a reddish-brown hue.
The variety is mid-season and adapted to temperature fluctuations and arid conditions. The fruit flesh is firm and crunchy, possessing a sweet flavor with mild pungency, which makes them suitable for fresh consumption, culinary processing, and drying.
