The Jason (F1) hybrid is a vigorous plant with medium-length internodes. The fruits have a square shape, four chambers, and reach an average weight of about 200 grams. The flesh is distinguished by high density and excellent shelf life, while the shape and size of the fruits remain stable throughout the entire fruiting cycle.
The plant possesses high resistance to tobacco mosaic virus (TM: 0-3) and intermediate resistance to powdery mildew and spot. The variety is resistant to cracking and is not susceptible to silvering. Intended for the fresh produce market.
In a number of sources, a different hybrid from the company Technisem is mentioned under the name Jason, intended for a tropical climate and characterized by earlier maturity dates.
