The variety is mid-season and is intended primarily for open field cultivation. The plant is characterized by compactness, strength, and resistance to lodging. Under cool growing conditions, the fruits may acquire an elongated-blocky shape, therefore a summer vegetation period is recommended to obtain the typical blocky shape.
The fruits have an average weight of about 160 g and a size of 9 by 9 cm, and possess thick walls. At technical maturity, the fruits are green; upon ripening, they become red. The variety has high resistance to tobacco mosaic virus and is often used in scientific research as a genetic standard for non-pungent pepper.
