Naso di cane

Withdrawn

Capsicum annuum L. Bell pepper · Vegetables

also searched as: насо ди кане

Variety description

10 August 2026

The Naso di cane bush reaches 60–80 cm in height and is characterized by compactness and branching. The plant is suitable for cultivation in protected ground or in pots with a volume of 3–4 liters. The variety is mid-season: the vegetation period to technical maturity is 90–100 days, and 130–140 days to biological maturity.

The fruits have a conical or heart shape, resembling a dog's nose, and are positioned vertically on the bush. Upon ripening, they change color from green to red, and in biological maturity, small cracks may form on the skin. The variety has medium pungency in the range of 3 000–7 000 Scoville heat units.

The variety is versatile in use: it is used fresh, for stuffing, pickling, and preserving in oil. The plant is productive and hardy, however, like most Capsicum annuum species, it is sensitive to frost.
