The Russian variety «Питон» is mid-early, with a period from germination to fruiting of 115–125 days. The plant is tall, reaching 140 cm, and is characterized as semi-spreading and moderately leafy. The variety is genetically resistant to Tobacco mosaic virus and is intended for cultivation in plastic and glass greenhouses.

The fruits are trunk-shaped with a length of 25–27 cm; their average mass is 50–60 g with a wall thickness of 2–3 mm. The fruit color changes from green at technical maturity to glossy bright red at biological maturity. The plant requires mandatory staking and shoot pruning.

In European catalogs, a separate variety is registered under the name «Piton», presented by a French breeding company. This version is more often referred to as a hybrid, while the name may be used for various varietal lines of vegetable crops.
