In scientific literature, the Ribera variety appears in studies concerning grafting methods, where it is used as a rootstock to evaluate resistance to nematodes of the species Meloidogyne incognita.

Detailed characteristics of the variety, including morphological traits, maturity group, or fruit description, are absent in accessible publications. Under experimental conditions, a commercial yield of 12.7–12.9 kg/m² was recorded.
