The Serrano Santo Domingo F1 hybrid is a compact bush 45–80 cm tall. The ripening period to technical maturity is 62 days, and 82 days to biological maturity. The fruits are cylindrical in shape, 10–20 cm long, and are characterized by fleshiness, firmness, and a pungency of 5 000–10 000 SHU. The variety is suitable for cultivation in pots and open field.
The traditional Santo Domingo Pueblo variety reaches a height of 60–90 cm and matures in 85 days. The fruits are 8–13 cm long, up to 2.5 cm wide, and have relatively thick walls with medium pungency. Green fruits are used for stuffing, and red ones for drying and processing into powder.
