The plant reaches a height of 40–70 cm and forms a compact upright bush. The leaves are lanceolate in shape and can be serrated; young shoots are often colored in a grayish-green shade.
A distinctive feature of the variety is the spherical black or dark buds, from which develop fringed flowers of a fuchsia-pink shade. The variety is characterized by frost resistance and the ability to grow on various types of well-drained soils.
The plant is used in ornamental gardening for group and solitary plantings, as well as for cutting. The flowering period lasts from May–June to August–September, attracting pollinating insects.
