Tree with a narrow, dense, columnar or narrow-conical crown. Height reaches 5–10 meters with a crown diameter of 3–4 meters. Branches are directed vertically upward.
Needles are scale-like, bluish at a young age, later becoming gray-blue with a silvery tint. Cones are spherical, small, up to 8 mm, light brown with a bluish bloom.
The plant is used in ornamental gardening, including for creating pruned hedges, as well as in single and group plantings. The variety is moderately frost-hardy, requires protection from wind and open areas in regions with cold winters.
