The plant has a columnar crown shape. During the first ten years of growth, the tree reaches a height of about 1.2 meters. A distinctive feature is the dense needles of a silver-blue or silver-gray shade.
The variety possesses resistance to diseases, in particular to Verticillium wilt, and high winter hardiness. In ornamental gardening, it is used for creating hedges, solitary plantings, and forming visual accents.
When growing seedlings of this variety, grafting onto rootstock is sometimes used to prevent root rots.
