Antler is a forage crop characterized by intensive development in the early stages, which allows for effective weed suppression. The plant possesses a powerful branched root system, ensuring high drought tolerance and the possibility of utilization for 4–5 years.

The variety features high dry matter yield and a low tendency to flower in subsequent cuts, which promotes active leaf mass formation. The plant contains sesquiterpene lactones that contribute to improving animal health and reducing parasite levels.

Despite being registered in the witloof chicory group, the biological characteristics of the variety are directed toward vegetative mass production. The variety is not intended for the forcing of etiolated shoots characteristic of salad witloof.
