Ardita is a traditional name used to designate local watermelons grown in the province of Reggio Emilia and is often considered a synonym for the Santa Vittoria type. This plant is not a standardized modern variety but is preserved through local cultivation traditions.

The fruits are described as medium-large, reaching a mass of over 10 kg, and possess pronounced sweetness. Morphologically, the fruits are distinguished by a dark coloration with greenish stripes on a light background. Characteristic features include late maturity, good yield, and uneven ripening typical of heirloom varieties.
