The variety belongs to the mid-early maturity group; the period from emergence to ripening is 80–85 days. The fruits have a round shape, and their average weight varies within 4–5 kg.

Bozhura is an old local variety maintained in the collection of the Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute in Plovdiv. The variety is suitable for cultivation in conventional and organic farming, and is also used in scientific research, including experiments on studying male sterility.
