The Eleonora watermelon variety is characterized by the absence of seeds, medium-sized fruits weighing from 4 to 7 kg, and a dark rind color. The fruit flesh is distinguished by a high sugar content (11.5–14 degrees Brix) and an increased concentration of lycopene.

The variety name appears in variety registers, however, exhaustive morphological and agronomic characteristics, such as growth type or disease resistance, are not presented in open publications. In a number of cases, the name Eleonora is used as a brand for marketing watermelons.
