The first-generation hybrid Sterling F1 is a triploid seedless watermelon with a growing period of about 97 days. The fruits have light green rind with dark stripes and are characterized by a blocky-oblong shape.

The flesh of the fruits is deep red in color, and the sugar level on the Brix scale is approximately 11%. The variety possesses tolerance to infestation by Fusarium wilt and anthracnose.
