California Honey is a vigorous tree obtained from a cross between King and Willowleaf mandarins. Its fruits have an oblate shape, a weight of 40–80 g, and thin, grainy, light-orange rind. The presence of seeds in the fruits depends on pollination conditions.

Honey Tangerine (Murcott) is a tangor, a hybrid of mandarin and sweet orange. Trees have an upright growth habit, but branches may break under the weight of the crop. The fruits have high sugar content, are juicy, and are easy to peel. The variety is sensitive to low temperatures and Alternaria brown spot.

Both variants are thermophilic crops (hardiness zones 9–11) intended for fresh consumption. In temperate climates, they are grown primarily in greenhouses or as container plants.
