Variety description

The variety is a compact deciduous shrub with a height of 100–200 cm. It differs from the original species by the variegated coloring of the leaves: the olive-green blade is complemented by a creamy-white or yellowish margin and spots.
The plant forms large corymbose inflorescences of fragrant purple-pink flowers; the flowering period occurs from July to October. The variety is moderately winter-hardy, withstanding temperature drops down to -10…-15°C; if damaged by frost, the above-ground part is capable of regenerating from the root.
Clerodendrum is a root-suckering plant and, under favorable conditions, exhibits a tendency for intensive spreading. To maintain aesthetic appeal and stimulate flowering, the plant requires annual pruning and the selection of a site protected from the wind.
