The variety is a Colocasia hybrid that originated as a mutation of the Colocasia 'Dark Star' cultivar. The plant forms clumps with heart-shaped leaves up to 60 cm long and reaches a height of 1.2–1.5 m.
A distinctive feature of the variety is the raised dark-purple or black veins, which contrast with the lime-colored leaf blade. The leaf petioles are dark in color, and the edges of mature leaves curl downward. The variety is intended for landscaping and container gardening.
The plant prefers locations with partial shade and moist, organic-rich soil. Unlike food-grade taro varieties, this cultivar is not intended for cultivation for edible tubers.
