Variety description

The variety is a hybrid of Cotinus szechuanensis and Cotinus coggygria. The plant forms a compact shrub 1.5–2.5 m tall. Small rounded leaves with a wavy margin have a purple-red color during the growing season and acquire an orange-red hue in the autumn period.
In June–July, the plant forms large paniculate inflorescences ("wigs") of purple or pink-burgundy color. The variety possesses frost resistance down to –23...–25 °C (USDA zone 6) and drought tolerance after rooting. It tolerates pruning well, intended for single and group plantings, as well as container cultivation.
