The variety is a selection from natural material collected in China. The plant has upright, gracefully curved branches forming a funnel-shaped crown, reaching a height of about 2 meters with a width of 1.5 meters.
Leaves are broadly elliptical, dark green with grayish pubescence on the underside, falling in November. In May, the shrub blooms with small pink flowers, followed by the formation of orange-red fruits about 1 cm in diameter, which persist on the branches until winter.
The plant is hardy, withstands frosts down to -29°C, and is wind-resistant. It grows well in sunny areas and partial shade, and adapts to a wide range of soil pH. It is used in landscape design as a solitary plant or in group plantings and is valued as a honey plant.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
