The variety originates from the Emilia-Romagna region and has been cultivated for a long time in the area between the cities of Brescello and Sorbolo. The plant is characterized by compactness, which allows it to be grown both in the open field and in containers on balconies and terraces.
The fruits have a round shape and a smooth surface; their color varies from greenish-yellow to bright yellow as they ripen. From 3 to 5 fruits can be obtained from one plant. The flesh is distinguished by an intense aroma reminiscent of a banana and a pronounced sweet taste.
Successful cultivation requires deep and fresh soils, as well as regular irrigation with moisture control to prevent diseases. The variety is considered an heirloom and a collector's item.
