The Banana Santa Vittoria melon is a local ecotype originating from the Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy regions. The variety belongs to the Inodorus group, the fruits of which are non-climacteric and possess high keeping quality, allowing them to be stored during the winter period.
The fruits have an elliptical shape, thin skin, and whitish sweet flesh. A characteristic feature of the variety is an intense aroma with distinct notes of banana. The variety is used as a table crop, historically linked to the traditional agriculture of the mentioned Italian provinces.
