The variety belongs to late-maturing or winter melons; the ripening period is 95–105 days. The fruits have a round shape and an average size of about 20 cm. The rind is hard, golden-yellow in color, often with slight netting; the flesh is pale green or whitish-green.
The fruits are noted for good flavor, being sweet, aromatic, and juicy. Due to the hard rind, the variety has excellent keeping quality and can be stored in a cool, dry place for several weeks, which has been historically used to extend the consumption season.
