The first-generation hybrid (F1) Iperione belongs to the group of Italian reticulated melons. The fruit ripening period is 70–75 days. The plant is characterized as balanced, possessing a high fruit-setting capacity under various growing conditions.
The fruits have firm, juicy orange flesh with a high sugar content index on the Brix scale. The variety is suitable for long-term storage and sale on the fresh market.
The variety possesses high resistance to Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis, races 0, 1, 2) and intermediate resistance to powdery mildew (Podosphaera xanthii, races 1, 2, 5) and certain species of aphids.
