The variety is classified as Cucumis melo subsp. agrestis and serves as donor material in breeding programs. It does not possess the characteristics of a commercial variety; therefore, information on ripening time or fruit quality is absent from scientific literature.

A key feature of the line is resistance to Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis, race 1.2). This resistance is polygenic recessive in nature, which is why Piboule is used as a control sample when testing other varieties.
