The NC-Sapphire hybrid is obtained by crossing inbred lines NC-303 and NC-309 and belongs to the oriental melon type with crisp flesh. Plants are indeterminate and have palmate leaves with serrated margins.
Fruits have smooth white skin, white flesh, and a small seed cavity. The variety is distinguished by a high Brix value and resistance to powdery mildew (Podosphaera xanthii) and downy mildew (Pseudoperonospora cubensis). Intended for fresh consumption.
