ActiveCucumis sativus L. · Cucumber
Monstanto Vegetable, NL
10 August 2026
The plant is vigorous yet compact, suitable for cultivation in open field and greenhouses, often exhibiting a predominance of female flowering. The period from germination to the beginning of fruiting is 50–60 days. The variety type is distinguished by high adaptability to temperature fluctuations and drought tolerance.
The dark green fruits are harvested when they reach a length of 10–16 cm. They have crunchy flesh and do not require peeling. The variety is intended for fresh consumption, however, due to their size, the fruits are also used for pickling and brining.
Both landrace varieties and modern hybrids are found on the market. The level of disease resistance and the type of pollination depend on the specific breeding line, therefore characteristics may vary depending on the seed producer.
