The plant is vigorous, with long light green stems and large leaves. The fruits are characterized by an ovoid shape with a noticeable bulge in the middle and pronounced rounded ribs. The fruit surface is slightly prickly, and the length can exceed 40 cm.
The variety is intended for cultivation in the open field. Unlike many other cucumbers, these fruits are recommended for heat treatment, such as frying or stewing. Historically, the variety became widespread in the vicinity of Paris in the 19th century.
