The fruits are large, oblong, 20–40 cm in length. At technical maturity, they have a creamy white or light green color, turning yellow at biological maturity. The skin is smooth, sometimes with white spines. The flesh is white, fleshy, with a small seed cavity, and has a delicate taste.

The plant is vigorous and vining; fruits are formed on side shoots. The variety is early-maturing, with a ripening period of 45–65 days. It is suitable for cultivation in open field and requires harvesting the fruits at a young age to prevent the development of bitterness.

Historically in the Netherlands, the variety was used primarily for canning and making pickled salads. As the variety is an open-pollinated type, its characteristics may vary slightly depending on growing conditions.
