Petita is a vigorous plant that is recommended for cultivation in greenhouses using supports such as netting or stakes. The fruits, which fall into the mini or semi-sized cucumber category, have crisp flesh and high taste qualities.

The plant has a predominantly female flowering type, which eliminates the need to remove male flowers. The variety is considered one of the predecessors of modern parthenocarpic mini-cucumbers and is adapted for cultivation in cool climate conditions.
