The hybrid is an interspecific combination of Cucurbita maxima and Cucurbita moschata. Its primary purpose is to serve as a rootstock for grafting cucumber or watermelon, while the fruits of the hybrid itself are not intended for consumption and do not possess the characteristics of table varieties.

The use of this rootstock contributes to increasing the resistance of grafted plants to Verticillium wilt and soil salinity. The main value of the hybrid lies in the development of the root system and compatibility with the scion.
