The plant is a large vine with large leaves. The fruits have thin skin, and their color can be orange, green with stripes, or solid. The flesh is most often orange, less often light green.
The fruits contain sugars, carotene, pectin, vitamins, and mineral substances, and are characterized by good keeping quality. The crop yield exceeds the indices of the parent forms by 20–30%. It is used in cooking in raw and processed form, as well as a fodder plant.
The agrotechnology of the crop does not differ from the cultivation of other cucurbitaceous plants.
