Strong Tosa is a technical selection product intended for grafting watermelons, melons, cucumbers, and summer squash. Its primary role is to improve scion characteristics, including increasing resistance to abiotic stresses such as low temperatures and soil salinity.
The plant possesses marked resistance to soil-borne pathogens, particularly to Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum. The use of this rootstock can influence the physical and chemical indicators of fruits of grafted crops, for example, their aroma or acidity.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
