The variety was isolated by researchers at the Ljubljana University Botanic Garden from a collection of specimens gathered within the territory of Slovenia. The object of the study was the intraspecific diversity of Cyclamen purpurascens.
In the classification based on leaf coloration features, the variety belongs to the semi-silver group. This trait is considered the most stable for distinguishing types within this species.
The plant is intended for the preservation of genetic diversity, scientific research purposes, and decorative use in botanical gardens.
