The variety «Podsreda» was obtained in the course of research into the intraspecific diversity of Cyclamen purpurascens growing in the wild in Slovenia. The plant was selected based on morphological characteristics after studying about 6000 specimens.
In the classification of cyclamens by leaf blade pattern, the variety is included in the group with green leaves. The plant has scientific and collection value and is intended for use for decorative purposes and the conservation of biological diversity.
