The variety is an F1 hybrid suitable for use in annual and biennial cultivation cycles. The plant forms inflorescences with purple coloration, having fleshy elongated scales. The variety possesses adaptability to various soil pH levels.

In official UPOV and CPVO technical protocols, Concerto is used as a reference variety when evaluating morphological traits and vigor of other artichoke varieties. The main purpose of the produce is the fresh vegetable market.
