The variety is the result of many years of elite selection based on open cross-pollination of carrot populations from the Kaiserstuhl region. The selection process allowed for the identification of stable lines, including an orange-red variety.

The plant belongs to the category of self-pollinating varieties suitable for seed saving. The variety is intended for cultivation for the purpose of preserving the region's cultural heritage.
