The variety belongs to the group of heirloom varieties and is grown primarily in the Kyoto region. The period from sowing to maturity takes from 70 to 90 days. The roots reach a length of 25–40 cm, have a conical shape with a pointed tip and a smooth surface of bright red color, which becomes more intense in cool weather.
The flesh is characterized by a high sugar content and a tender texture. The variety is cold-resistant and develops best when sown in late summer or early autumn for harvest in the cool period. The plant prefers loose, organic-rich soils.
