The variety is intended primarily for cultivation in greenhouses and polyhouses using intensive technologies. The plant is characterized by pronounced stem parameters, such as thickness and weight, and is suitable for commercial cut flower production.

Madras features an early start of budding when planted in January. The variety demonstrates stability when grown in both protected and open field conditions. It is used in breeding programs as a parent form to obtain mutants with altered flower coloration.

Growth and development indicators of the plants depend directly on cultivation conditions, including pinching schemes and nutrient regimes.
